Description of project and customer issues
As part of its motorway infrastructure maintenance programme, a motorway operator has commissioned a construction company to carry out resurfacing works on the A64 motorway between the Roques-sur-Garonne junction (No. 36) and the A64/A620 junction at Bordelongue.
This work, carried out on a 12-kilometre stretch (6 kilometres in each direction), aims to ensure drivers’ comfort and safety by improving the durability of the road surface and maintaining its grip.
The client called upon the services and expertise of Aegide International to provide HSE supervision. Our safety officer service ran for almost three months, and a total of two consultants were deployed.

The overall objectives of the role as Security Officer are:
- Be exemplary in terms of safety in your attire and behavior
- Plan safety receptions and APTE’VA (Aptitude Vinci Autoroutes) training
- Ensure compliance, implementation and monitoring of safety requirements applicable to the site and continuous improvement of the safety approach,
- Manage the coactivity of machines, trucks, pedestrians,
- Advise/alert the client on specific safety issues,
- Raise awareness among all stakeholders (co-contractors and subcontractors) of the site requirements,
- Encourage all stakeholders to report hazardous situations and near-accidents, analyze and deal with them,
- Carry out on-site checks, particularly with regard to the use of construction site machinery (CE certification of machines and equipment, validity of VGPs, driver authorization)
