As part of its new Global Road Safety Strategy, LafargeHolcim requested Aegide International’s assistance in the development and implementation of a comprehensive and standardised Train the Trainer program in Defensive Driving for Heavy Vehicles. Aegide’s defensive driving teams created and customized its Train the Trainer program to the specificities of the cement industry and the varied cultural contexts in which LafargeHolcim operates.

This project involved the provision of the following training modules:
- Basics of Defensive Driving Theory
- Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
- Heavy Vehicle Exercises (Coupling-uncoupling, Pre-trip inspections, Reversing, Emergency Braking)
- Commentary Driving (as a driver)
- Train the trainer
- Commentary driving (as a trainer)
Project results
Train the trainer modules were delivered in over 20 countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East for Light and Heavy Vehicles.
