HSE Award in Managing Risks & Risk Assessment
The aim of this short course is to provide an initial understanding of risk management and risk assessment in the workplace. Develop simple, practical health and safety risk management skills to go beyond risk assessment to effectively control the health and safety risks caused by hazards in your workplace.
Anyone involved in managing workplace health and safety risks including those who undertake risk assessments. The content will be particularly useful to employers, managers, supervisors, SHE champions and union and health and safety representatives.
At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
NEBOSH MHR training is divided into 3 elements:
■ Understand risk assessment terminology, moral, legal and business reasons for managing health and safety risks.
■ An introduction to the steps for managing risk
■ Competence in health and safety
■ The value of worker consultation
■ The application of risk management steps for health and safety at work
■ This ensures that a risk assessment is appropriate and sufficient
■ The meaning and application of dynamic risk assessments for unforeseeable hazards
■ The distinction between prevention, mitigation and application of risk control principles
■ Sources of information that can be used to identify hazards and risks
■ Introduction to HSE risk assessment tools and where to find them
1 hour written assessment.
