  • Understanding the roles and responsibilities of managers, regardless of their hierarchical level.
  • Identify ways to improve behaviour
  • Understanding the link between behaviour, human error and accidents at work
  • Ensure that safety rules are integrated into day-to-day business.
  • Describe leadership and commitments in occupational health and safety.
  • Apply effective communication and interaction.
  • Ensure that teams are familiar with the security policy and apply it.
  • Lead by example and proactively engage employees on safe behaviours and work practices.

Course Content

Pre-training quiz to assess perceptions of safety culture

Introduction

  • Debriefing of preliminary quizzes.
  • Understand the moral, legal, and financial reasons why a company must apply safety rules.
  • Be familiar with your company's policies and objectives.

1. Understanding roles and responsibilities as a manager

  • The health and safety management system (risk assessment, Gemba, safety walks, etc.)

2. Improving behaviour

  • Understanding the factors influencing behaviour
  • Understanding human error
  • Understanding risk perception
  • Understanding leadership styles
  • Knowing how to make the connection between leadership and commitment

3. Communicate effectively

  • Understanding the impacts of interference
  • Take into account the culture of communication
  • Knowing how to choose between different types of communication media
  • Improving performance through feedback

4. Making OHS commitments
