In 2012, Total E&P launched a major construction and renovation programme for its upstream O&G assets in Gabon. In an effort to promote local content, Total hired Aegide International to develop a four-year programme for talent identification and knowledge transfer.

egide International developed and implemented this nationalization plan focused on developing local HSE talent. This project represented a total of 176 650 working hours spread over 11 onshore and offshore sites, and covering the following activities:
- Recruitment campaign of local talent and Gabonese engineers looking for employment opportunities in their home country
- Establishment of a competency evaluation tool deployed on 500 candidates
- Development of a comprehensive and individualized training and coaching plan
- Development and deployment of management and reporting tools on HSE.
- Led project coordination for up to 36 supervisors at the project peak.
Project results
As a result of this project, Aegide International identified and interviewed more than 500 HSE professionals in Gabon, recruitment 47 HSE Supervisors over the 4 year period and provided over 3,800 hours of specialized HSE training to high potential supervisors. Several of the highest performing HSE professionals were hired by Total.
