SPAC, a subsidiary of the COLAS group, works in France and internationally to build and maintain water and energy networks.

SPAC, particularly its HTB agency located in Nanterre, is currently working on the deployment of the electrical connection and the installation of onshore and offshore ducts/pipes at the Dieppe wind farm on behalf of its clients Nexans and RTE. ​

Aegide International was working alongside SPAC on HSE coordination.​

• Supervise field activities, particularly critical lifts Monitor (as a lookout) the cliff area and alert of any incidents

FARGESBOIS, based in Egletons in Corrèze and born from the acquisition of the former Guy Farges sawmill, is specialized in wood processing.

The business activities of the company cover:

• Forest exploitation
• 1st transformation (sawing activities)
• 2nd transformation (transformation of sawn timber)
• Transformation of sawdust and shavings in granules for heating.

FARGESBOIS requested technical support from Aegide International after it had identified non-conformities in terms of LOTO, both in terms of practices and documentation.​ The company does not have the skills and the internal resources to comprehensively assess its LOTO Policy and its practices in order to then establish an action plan.​

Description of project and customer issues

Located in the port area of Owendo, the New International Port of Owendo (NOIP) is a port infrastructure serving industry and trade in Gabon.

A subsidiary of the Arise Ports & Logistics group, this port terminal is equipped to handle the entire logistics chain for a wide range of cargo, from ship to industry, thanks to modern equipment and its own logistics fleet.

Aegide International was commissioned by the NOIP in October 2022 to conduct a diagnostic assessment of its road safety performance and implement a road safety management strategy.

In response to the findings of the assessment, Aegide International was engaged to assist NOIP in developing and implementing a risk-based approach to road safety. This is a first step in developing a strong safety culture that will protect NOIP's staff, customers, assets and global operations.

Project objective

The main objective of this project was to support NOIP in implementing a road safety management system (RSMS) that would align the company with the certification requirements of ISO 39001.

Scope of the project

The execution of the project took place in three stages according to the following approach:​

• Gap analysis: evaluation of skills, examination of documents, interviews, observation in the field​
• Capacity/skills strengthening:
  • Training / awareness of the ISO 39001 standard requirements "Road safety management systems" (12 people)​
  • Training session of trainers - VL / PL / 4X4 (7 people trained)
• Development of a Road Safety Management System:
  • Animation of collective workshops around the following themes: SWOT; Vision ; Risk mapping; Stakeholder cartography ​
  • Establishment of a strategic vision (road safety vision, road safety policy, safety objectives, key performance indicators) ​
  • Implementation of an organization (organization chart, roles and responsibilities, action plan, resources, monitoring and evaluation)
  • Establishment of an operational road safety dashboard.

The reconstruction of the multi-sector center in Ivry/Paris XIII is among the largest waste treatment facility projects carried out in France today. The objective was to transform the existing, aging center into state-of-the-art equipment. With the ambition of creating a benchmark factory, in France and in Europe. ​

As part of this large-scale construction project, Aegide International was contacted by several companies and subcontractors to mobilize several HSE professionals, particularly HSE Supervisors, over a period from December 2020 to June 2022.​

What is Onboarding?

Onboarding is the process that an organisation puts in place to welcome and integrate a new employee, from the moment the employee is notified that he or she has been recruited until he or she takes up the position in full autonomy. It's a time for commitment, loyalty and sharing.

• Preparation and creation of the "back-office" Onboarding path: people to meet; key documentation; short/medium/long-term employee objectives; interview schedule D+7 / M+1 / end of trial period, etc.

BlaBlaCar is a digital car-sharing platform that brings drivers and passengers together.

The company has 90 million users in 22 countries, making it the world leader in long-distance car-sharing services. Since 2019, BlaBlaCar's offering has been extended to include bus transport. The company's coach services carry 10 million passengers across Europe. This transport activity involves a fleet of up to 400 coaches, all owned and operated by subcontractors. Following a number of road accidents involving buses operating under the BlaBlaCar brand, the company decided to implement a proactive road risk management strategy.

Blablacar commissioned Aegide International to carry out a diagnostic of its road safety management procedures. This diagnosis enabled the company to identify significant gaps in its road safety management system. Using the results of this gap analysis, Aegide International was able to guide the client throughout the process of developing a corporate road safety strategy.

The aim of this consultancy was to support Blablacar in implementing a risk-based approach to road safety in line with industry best practice.

The WEBUILD / NGE GC consortium, as part of its partnership on the Lot 2 project for Line 16 of the Grand Paris Express, is seeking the services and expertise of Aegide International to provide HSE Supervision as Tunnel and Surface Works Safety Officer.

At the peak of activity, 3 Aegide International consultants are mobilised. Our collaboration began in September 2022 and is ongoing.

The EBRD is supporting Dolidol Company in the development of its activities and in this context the EBRD is developing a technical assistance in order to improve the management of occupational road safety risks. The road transport sector in Morocco is characterized by a high fragmentation (95% of the companies own in average 3 to 5 trucks); Dolidol’s fleet (150 vehicles including 110 trucks) is therefore one of the biggest fleets in Morocco.

The objective of the Assignment is therefore to support Dolidol in the development and implementation of a formal road safety management system in line with its operations. This system will build on the current practices and will be aligned with the quality management system in place (ISO9001 certification) in order to target an integrated management system.

Following rapid expansion in its workforce, Schlumberger required external assistance to implement its health and safety training programme across the European and African geo-market. Aegide International was hired to integrate safety training professionals into the Schlumberger organisation in order to provide training services during the onboarding process for engineers and during operational phases on technical issues ranging from defensive driving to first aid.
