SAFETY ENGINEER POSITIONS

Scope of Work:

Activities include:

Follow-up and review of the contractor engineering activity including Safety concept, helideck studies, escape routes layout, detector layout, PFP studies, etc.
Review of vendor documentation (safety related system such as CO2 system, etc)
Reply to technical queries
Ensure that the contractual specification are applied

At completion of detailed engineering, the safety engineering service provider will move to field engineering ( onshore or offshore according to the projects) .

Activities shall include the following:

supervise for the safety discipline the site engineering activities carried out by the contractor and ensure the co-ordination for the same

assist the site engineering manager in his duties which cover all construction phases, including interfaces with other contractors, construction methods, yard pre-fabrications, construction, equipment installation, integration, commissioning up to sail way and request for waivers related to safety engineering matters

highlight potential risk of delay in field engineering and construction execution, and propose remedial actions

check the consistency of the engineering deliverables schedule with the contractor construction planning; control the timely execution of the activities relevant to safety discipline as per schedule

advise the yard project control manager of potential delays; propose and take remedial actions to recover

review contractor engineering progress and provide periodic information to the site engineering manager to update the Production Indicators

check consistency and quality of the detailed engineering performed by contractor

check the consistency of the vendor dossier with the engineering drawings

follow-up and monitor the issuing of documents related to the safety discipline

review all technical documents issued by the contractor for the safety discipline

keep a register and a copy of the latest revision of engineering documents

check that contractor works related to the safety discipline are carried out in accordance with the latest revision of drawings and documents

attend the meetings as requested by the site engineering manager

assist for the technical review of change orders and ensure that accepted changed orders are implemented

assist the site engineering manager in the verification of the as-built documentation related to the safety discipline.

Essential qualifications / experience

Education: chartered engineer (or in process of attaining Charter status)

Professional experience: around 10-15 years experience with Safety engineering in the Oil & Gas industry
